Opportunity

"Following a plan is good for progress, but opportunity usually exists off the plan".

I feel this quote by Simon Sinek is so true when it comes to design.

Many of my master strokes have evolved from thinking outside the box and having the courage to deviate from the plan.

I encourage you to take time to think outside the box with your space.

At the very least be open. Observe, question and experiment.

Leslie Walford

I shouted myself the latest Belle to read on my way home from Bali and I am in awe of the beautiful images of Leslie Walford's home.

I adore a beautifully crafted interior that says a million words about the person who lives behind its door.

I also love an interior that is uniquely timeless...

...and one that is curated and full of all the wonderful things that its owner holds dear.

In our world of interior pornography and styling for styling sake this can be hard to find.

This Double Bay home bought in the 70's and lovingly designed by Leslie Walford is an absolutely exquisite example of a true interior designed home.

I would just adore the stunning plant in image one for my home. I am completely inspired! Thank you Mr Walford.

My Bali Escape

Isn't it just the most amazing feeling arriving home after a trip away! This week was the first opportunity I've had to return to our new home after spending some time away. As I drove home from the airport I anticipated my reaction. Would I see all the unfinished parts or would the changes I have began to make speak louder? I really hoped for the former but wasn't quite sure.

For me, living day by day in my home is a constant critique. To have this opportunity to see it again with fresh eyes was fantastic. As I entered the front door I was immediately reassured and like a kid in a candy shop my eyes were alight seeing all the little touches I had been working so hard on over the past several months. It felt great to be home!

My 7 day trip to Bali was full of inspiration and contemplation. I achieved some big things this week. Finding focused time to give detailed consideration to business development was high on my agenda. After a week of mind mapping, sketching and reflecting I am feeling wonderfully excited about the future. The long overdue beginnings of a new look for Touch Interiors, a new look for Complete Pad and maybe something else new too, has started brewing.

PS: I highly recommend The Colony when next staying in Seminyak and not only because it's a short stroll away from Seminyak's best coffee at Grocer & Grind.
